Strategy & Goals

  • Craft a logo and visual language that evokes connection to nature, life cycles, and lasting legacy.
  • Use design elements that would feel authentic and respectful across print brochures, web pages, signage, and environmental materials.

Logo & Symbolism

  • The Better Place Forests mark was developed to reflect organic forms and tree symbolism, making the brand feel rooted in the natural experience of forest memorials. The visual mark operates well in both digital and print use.

Color Palette

  • A calm, earth-inspired palette grounded the brand — deep greens, warm neutrals, and soft accent tones taken from natural landscapes. This palette helps convey peace and continuity with nature across all materials.

Typography

  • A thoughtful, readable type system was chosen for web and print to balance dignity and accessibility. It supports long-form storytelling without sacrificing modern, approachable aesthetics.

Brochures & Guides

  • A comprehensive brochure system was designed to explain memorial options, forest locations, and the experience with immersive nature photography, tactile paper choices, and thoughtful layouts. These materials were intended to feel calm, intentional, and respectful of delicate subject matter.

Signage & Wayfinding

  • Environmental graphics and signage were developed using natural materials and enduring forms so they age with their environment — a visual metaphor for the ongoing life of the forests themselves.

Print Systems

  • Business stationery, envelopes, custom cards, and informational leaflets all carried consistent visual elements from the brand system to reinforce cohesion both on-site and in mailers.

Website Design

  • The web presence was redesigned with a focus on visual storytelling — prioritizing beautiful landscape photography, clear sections, and emotional resonance over transactional language while still functioning as a hub for information and conversion.

Homepage & Section Styling

  • Homepage layouts highlight the brand mission with large imagery and calm typography.
  • Sections like “About Our Memorial Forests” and “Plan Your Visit” were re-designed with harmonious grids and visual rhythms that echo forest forms.

Responsive Visuals

  • Design adaptations ensured consistency across devices, from desktop galleries to printed information captured and shared online, all reinforcing the brand’s visual cues.

Photography & Imagery

  • A rich library of forest photography, landscape views, and contextual images was curated to support both print collateral and web banners, reinforcing the calm and enduring personality of the brand.

Key Outcomes

Brand Cohesion Across Mediums
  • The redesign created a unified visual identity that worked seamlessly across print brochures, environmental signage, and web interfaces, which strengthened perception and recognition.

Enhanced Emotional Connection

  • Through careful use of color, type, imagery, video, and layout, the brand communicates its mission clearly and sensitively, giving users confidence and comfort whether browsing on a screen or reading printed materials.

Environmental Authenticity

  • The print and web design systems reflect the organization’s commitment to nature and legacy enhancing trust and connection with audiences considering meaningful memorial choices.
